Structure Fires
Olympia Fire Department units responded to a report of a commercial structure fire at 3:09 am this morning at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2225 Cain Rd. SE. Fire units arrived at 3:13 am and found the structure fully involved. The building was believed to be unoccupied at the time of the fire.
Fire units attacked the fire with multiple large hose streams from the exterior.
This is the second fire in three and a half months at the church. The previous fire was arson in nature.
Olympia Fire Department responded with four engines, one ladder truck, two medic units, and a command unit. Lacey Fire District 3 and Tumwater units also responded to this fire. No loss figures are available yet, but the building is a total loss.
Due to the history of a recent arson fire at the location, the Olympia Fire Department will be working with the Olympia Police Department and the ATF with the fire cause portion of the investigation. The Olympia Police Department contact is Lt. Sam Costello, 360-753-8066.
The Jehovah’s Witness Congregation contact is David Bronson, 360-259-2341.
