Structure fire
Olympia Firefighters responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 1000 Block of Lilly Rd. NE at 8:48 pm, Sunday evening, July 29, 2018. The first engine arrived in 5 minutes to find an approximately 30 by 50 foot swimming pool house fully involved in fire. The fire damage within the light weight building was so extensive that the origin or cause is not known at this time. The residence and two remaining outbuildings were protected and were not harmed by the fire.
The property and buildings were recently acquired by the City of Olympia and is not currently occupied. The value of the fire loss is negligible as the structures are scheduled for demolition. The fire was declared to be extinguished at 9:45 pm.
Olympia Fire Department responded with 4 engines, 1 ladder truck, 2 medic units and a command unit. There were no reported injuries and no occupants displaced. The cause of the fire is not determined.

Structure fire
Olympia Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Thistle Ln SW at 12:52 pm, Monday afternoon, July 30, 2018. The first engine arrived 5 minutes later and found a double wide manufactured home with a working fire in the kitchen. There were two residents home at the time of the incident and each had escaped and did not require medical aid.
The heaviest fire damage was in the kitchen area. Some of the residence also sustained smoke damage. The fire was declared under control 5 minutes after arrival of the first engine. Fire units stayed on the scene to perform overhaul and tend to the occupants needs. The cause appears to have been an accidental grease fire from cooking which spread to the kitchen cabinets and ceiling.
Olympia Fire Department responded with 4 engines, 1 ladder truck, 2 medic units, and a command unit. Tumwater also sent an engine. Damage to structure and contents is estimated at $35,000.
