The APLP is a signature program of the East-West Center. It involves 4.5
months of intensive work in Honolulu and a highly flexible 4.5 month
practicum, giving participants a wide range of options for their second
semester experience. Basic application requirements are strong English
language skills and at least a 4-year undergraduate degree or the
international equivalent (though most Fellows have at least a Masters).
The age range of the group is usually from mid-20s to mid-40s, with the
average being 32. Each class has members from between 15-20 countries and
a very wide range of professional and academic backgrounds.
Substantial scholarship funding is available. The application deadline is
December 1, 2010.
