Greetings, Dancers,
Please join us next Sunday, May 18, and dance to “Peter and the Wolf Tones,” a wonderful band from Portland, with calling by Eric Curl. Workshop starts at 3:00, and we then dance from 3:30 to 6:00 at Normanna Hall, 1106 South 15th St., Tacoma.
The band is George Penk on fiddle, Heather Pinney on piano and fiddle, and Jesse Schafer on guitar and cello. These are excellent musicians, with great arrangements made for dancing.
If you are new to contra dancing or want a refresher, be there by 3:00 for the workshop led by Eric Curl. This is the best way to learn contra dancing. Experienced dancers usually join in, and they are very welcoming to newcomers.
Admission is $15 - $30—please pay what you can afford. An average of about $19 per dancer allows us to cover the costs for rent, sound, band, and caller.
The new venue is good. We have fixed the sound issues by switching to smaller speakers. See you Sunday for a fun dance.
Matt
