Tacoma Contra Dance--next Sunday at Wells Hall

BIG NEWS.  Starting next Sunday, February 15, 2026, we will dance at Wells Hall, 310 North K Street, Tacoma.  That was the site of the contra dance from 1996 to 2023.  Dances take place once a month on the “third Sunday” afternoon, as listed on our website, https://tacomacontradance.org

 

The band next Sunday is Les Pieds Chaud (“Hot Feet”).  Sono Hashasaki and Devon Léger on fiddles, Joe Micheals on guitar, and Marcy Kubbs on piano will play exciting tunes to welcome us back to Wells Hall.  Workshop starts at 3:10 pm, followed by the dance from 3:30 to 6:00.

 

Our caller, Tom Wimmer, will start off with a workshop for newcomers.  Many experienced dancers join in.  This is the best way to learn the basics of contra dancing in a fun environment.

 

Plenty of parking is available on the street and in the lot next to the hall.  Please enter through the courtyard on North K Street. 

 

Admission is $15 - $30, sliding scale.  That means pay what you can afford.  An average of $19 or $20 per dancer will cover the costs.  Thanks.
