Tacoma Contra Dance this Sunday

Greetings, Dancers,

 

Please join us this Sunday afternoon, June 22, at the Tacoma Contra Dance.  Joe Micheals will call for the Hat Band, from Portland.  Workshop at 3:00, dance 3:30 to 6:30, at Normanna Hall, 1106 South 15^th, Tacoma.

 

Joe Micheals is one of my very favorite callers.  He offers a really excellent workshop for newcomers and experienced dancers alike.  Be there at 3:00 for the workshop, and bring your friends.  This is a good way to learn contra dancing or improve your skills.

 

The Hat Band is wonderfully unique.  Syd Newell on fiddle, Meg Tapley on flute, and Jon Neff on guitar play three-part harmonies in creative arrangements of traditional contra tunes, ragtime, blues, swing, and klezmer.  They wear funny hats—see the band photo on our website, https://tacomacontradance.org.  So, maybe you can wear a funny hat and win the prize for best hat. 

 

Admission is $15 to $30—pay what you can afford.  I know from experience that an average payments of $19 or $20 per dancer will let us cover our costs.  Many thanks.  See you Sunday afternoon for a fun dance.
