Greetings, Dancers,
We start early this coming Sunday, April 20, at 2:30 pm with a waltz workshop led by Laura Mé Smith. Waltz workshop goes from 2:30 to 3:30, then a short break, then the contra dance from 3:45 to 6:00. Bring a partner or come alone—we have plenty of singles.
Music is by “Chicken Feathers”. That’s W.B. Reid on guitar, banjo-guitar, and fiddle; Bonnie Zahnow on fiddle and guitar; and Laurie Andres on accordion. They are really versatile and dynamic.
The place is Normanna Hall, 1106 South 15th St, Tacoma. It’s a wonderful hall, great ambience, lots of fun. Don’t miss the Viking warrior staring down at you at the main door.
Admission is $15 - $30, pay what you can afford. An average of $19 or $20 per dancer will cover our costs (rent, band, caller, sound).
It is Easter Sunday, and I plan to have dinner with my sons after the dance. Hope you are so fortunate. Anyway, see you this Sunday to celebrate. Cheers.
Matt
