Greetings, Friends,
We dance this Saturday, October 21, at Christ Church Wells Hall, 310 North K Street, Tacoma. Your caller is Joe Micheals, and the band is the Olympia Volunteer String Band, an orchestra of 16 or so marvelous musicians led and arranged by Jesse Partridge. This will be great music and calling worthy of the occasion.
We have danced at Wells Halls since 1996—over a quarter of a century of contra dancing! In November we will dance at another location. More on that later. To focus on the present, Saturday’s contra dance will be the last in beautiful Wells Hall, so come dance with us!
Workshop for newcomers starts at 7:00 p.m. You can learn the basics of contra dancing or get a refresher from Joe Micheals, one of my favorite callers. We then dance from 7:30 to 10:00, with an intermission to catch our breath.
Admission is $10 - $25. That means pay what you can afford, and please be generous.
I look forward to seeing you and your friends this Saturday at Wells Hall. Details about the new location for November will be on our website. Let’s dance!
Matt
