Scandal Makers (Korean: 과속스캔들) is a 2008 South Korean comedy-drama film written and directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol and starring Cha Tae-hyun, Park Bo-young and Wang Seok-hyeon. This was director Kang's first film and the highest grossing Korean film of the year.
Former teen idol Nam Hyeon-soo (Cha Tae-hyun) is now in his thirties and works as a radio DJ. A young woman named Hwang Jeong-nam (Park Bo-young) sends stories about her life as a single mother to the radio station Hyeon-soo works at, telling him she is going to meet her father. He then finds out that he's her father when she shows up at his apartment with her son Ki-dong (Wang Seok-hyeon). She tells him that her real name is Jae-in and that her mother was Hyeon-soo's first love Jeong-nam. Hyeon-soo doesn't believe it at first, so they undergo a DNA test and the results confirm that they're related. Jae-in dreams of performing on stage as a singer, but Hyeon-soo fears that if she does, their paternity scandal might get out. Because of Jae-in's rising popularity, Ki-dong's father Park Sang-yoon (Im Ji-kyu) finds her. They meet and chat, with Sang-yoon initially under the mistaken assumption that Jae-in is romantically involved with Hyeon-soo. When Ki-dong later goes missing at Jae-in's performance, Hyeon-soo realizes that he really does care for his daughter and grandson. After news about his daughter and grandson got leaked, he wasn't faced with damage to his career due to taking responsibility of them in the first place, low popularity, and news about a disgraced film star beating up a scandal gossip journalist. With encouragement from Ki-Dong's kindergarten teacher, he changes his image to a responsible older man, which is warmly received by everyone. At a Christmas recital, Sang-yoon reconciles with Jae-in and Ki-Dong, rekindling their love for each other.
Scandal Makers was released in South Korea on 3 December 2008,[3] and topped the box office on its opening weekend with 473,725 admissions.[4] It continued to chart well finishing with over 8 million tickets sold becoming the highest grossing Korean film of 2008. The second highest grosser was The Good, The Bad, The Weird with 6.6 million tickets,[5] then The Chaser with roughly 5 million tickets sold.[6]
It takes a lot of preparation and attention to detail to get the ice just right for speed skating. Too hard and the surface can crack. Too soft, worker ice as it's referred to, and maintaining speed becomes more difficult.
The Dutch skating association KNSB published an article last week about the temperature of the ice with quotes from sport scientist Sander van Ginkel. Van Ginkel was quoted as saying he provides suggestions to the Olympic icemakers to make "adjustments that are in our favor" so "we can achieve something more."
The Netherlands is the dominant country in speed skating, having won 121 total Olympic medals. Norway is second with 84. The Dutch have already gotten off to a strong start at the 2022 Winter Olympics with four gold medals in five events.
Swedish coach Johan Rojler said the ice conditions varied during the first two days of competition, which gave him pause. But, he received an explanation from the International Skating Union with details of measurements done. That eased his concern regarding the ice itself, which he said has been more stable in the last few days.
"An ice master often informs with the top athletes how the surface is doing," Dutch Olympic Committee technical director Maurits Hendriks said in a press conference. "There is only one party that decides on the ice quality, on the temperature and that is the ISU. There's nobody else who can influence that."

yeah probably. it is all so confusing. what we see is female lead did something wrong in the past, something so bad it is better to have a bribary scandal. Young shim and 2nd ML both know what happened, the three used to get along but now dont. and in the flash back it seem to involve ML sister. I also noticed the female lead doesnt like it when people touch her- specifically her hands. could mean nothing like she may not like people touching her but it is a kdrama so even nothing means something
I don't think the ML would resent the FL a lot, unless she actually did something really bad to his sister. He just doesn't seem like that. Also, the synopsis says that he will play for the FL. But i think it would probably be hard for them to stay together? I hope the writers don't make their relationship a bitter one because i hate that stuffT-T

Those of you who build Scandal canexpect a speed of nine miles an hour with a 3 h.p. twin cylinder outboardmotor. This speed will not materialize if heavier materials are used than thoseshown on the plans, nor can satisfactory results be expected if the boat isbuilt differently than the plans show. Slight changes may not seem important;however, they are.
Nine miles an hour seems to be about the limit of speed with a 3 h.p.outboard engine, and while this is moderate for the times, it is fast for thecraft of this type and power. This latest design is not unlike a common skiff,but after some experimenting it has been shown that this is a better form forthis kind of boat than any other. Without question this is the easiest sort ofboat to build, and the cheapest; also about the lightest. It will be noticedthat the chine is drawn in very fine forward and that there is very littlerocker on the bottom. The freeboard has been kept low, and every thing aslight as possible so as to save weight and windage. Boats of this kind are notgenerally used in rough water and this angle of the problem has purposely notbeen considered. However, Scandal will slosh along with therest of them on this score, and will be a better kind of sea boat than onesuspects because of the broad flare of the topsides. A boat with flare isusually a fair sea boat.
The construction is simplicity itself and she can be built without a lot ofspecial tools and without a steam box. After all, simplicity is something worthhaving in a boat, or in anything else. It requires considerable experience tobuilt any kind of boat and a lot of common sense. There are always difficultiesto surmount in the building of any boat and this applies to the professionalbuilder as well as to the amateur, and so the simpler the design the better itis.

More than 1 million people signed an online petition calling for former Post Office chief executive Paula Vennells to lose her Commander of the Order of the British Empire title she received in 2018. She has said she would relinquish the honor.
New attention was paid last week as the public inquiry resumed on television with all eyes on Stephen Bradshaw, a Post Office investigator, who appeared rattled as he was accused of bullying and intimidating suspects who said he accused them of lying. Bradshaw denied the claims.
Lisa Brennan, a former clerk at a post office in Huyton, near Liverpool, told the inquiry that after being falsely accused of stealing 3,000 pounds ($3,800) in 2003, her marriage fell apart, she lost her house and she ended up homeless with a young daughter.
She had to leave her three children, who ranged in age from 10 to 18 at the time, and that strained their relationship. She harmed herself, considered suicide and struggled to get a job after her release.
The legislation envisioned would quash convictions and award those who have been cleared at least 600,000 pounds ($765,000), the government said. They could receive more if they go through a process to assess their claim.
Hollinrake said the inquiry will identify the organizations and individuals responsible for the scandal. Some members of Parliament have called for prosecuting those who allowed postmasters to take the blame for the faulty software.
