Dear All -

I would like the opportunity to introduce myself to this fine group.

My name is Jon Peters and I am working with a team developing a non-
profit model whose mission in part is to massively scale and
facilitate OLPC laptops. We have hired MIT alumni, a business plan
writer, a marketing and branding team, a web development staff of six
people, a field and admin team of five and over thirty unpaid
volunteers in Canada, the U.S. and Thailand.

We would like to propose prototyping the system in Thailand and have
been working with some members of the OLPC community there towards the
possibility of a trial. We have ordered 100 laptops to this end.

I plan to create a Google Group in the near future to collaborate with
the OLPC community and others to edit and comment on the foundation's
mission, business plan, operating plan and branding.

In the meantime if anyone in the group would like a copy of our
mission statement and to be put on a mail list for updates please
email me at jon.peters at gmail.com.

I would like to apologize and thank everyone in this group for their
patience in looking at my name on the front page for the last month
without a post. I sincerely look forward to any comments or
questions you may have.
