Hi all,

I introduced half a dozen people to the xo at GeeKyoto (http://
www.geekyoto.com/) today. I think the OLPC project is a great fit with
the ideas and ideals of the GeeKyoto event, so it was great to attract
some interest.

Turns out that the xo is a great note-taking device for conferences
with no power sockets too - the laptop power lasted pretty much all
day (with brightness turned down to b&w mode).

I invited a few people from the conference to join this group, so to
those people, please introduce yourself!

Cheers,

Frankie Roberto

Hi Frankie, I didn't get to say hello which is a pity. I did notice
the XO in the audience from the stage. Mine was in my bag. At one
stage I was going to do a TED and put out artifacts on the stage that
meant something to me in my current conception of what <geeKyoto> is
(some books, pictures, maps, wind up radio and the XO) but hey, last
minute mayhem and panic got in the way.

We should meet up and discuss the XO and other stuff.

Cheers,

Mark.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for joining the group. I certainly enjoyed geeKyoto, and got a
lot of attention with the xo!

For the sake of other members in the group, would you mind introducing
yourself in the Introductions thread (http://groups.google.com/group/
olpc-london/browse_thread/thread/1d03e61511e67fd9) - and saying a bit
about when and why and how you got your xo.

I'm going to organise a London xo meetup/workshop once we've found
enough people, so if you know anyone else with an xo, point them at
this group!

Cheers,

Frankie
