Thebest thing about not booking a travel/tour package is that you you can be flexible in planning out destinations to visit on a particular day. Especially when you are on your honeymoon and are expected to get up late in the morning :P. Apart from this, since this was our first trip abroad together, we both felt that this was the best time for us to get more close to each other and decided to manage and plan things together rather than adhering to tours/travel package guidelines.

On our second day of the trip, we wanted to explore the North-West part of the Island which has a cluster of 3-4 popular must see destinations. Later we found out we, could cover only 1. Read ahead to find out why.

10th Jan: Off to touch the skies, but after breakfast!!! Our stay had all the amenities required to prepare ones own meal. It had a fully functioning kitchen. We had a quick visit to the superstore nearby on the previous day to fill kitchen with supplies like bread, eggs, butter, fruits......chakna, booze...(will attach some pics later).

Langkawi Sky Bridge is a curved cable-stayed bridge 2170 ft above sea level. The only way to reach this bridge is by taking a Cable Car The Sky Cab from Oriental Village up to the peak. Oriental Village is a man-made village which features a unique experience in its own. This village has restaurants, shops, boutiques, central lake, 3-D Art museum and many other amusements. It also of-course has the ticket counter from where you will need to stand in the line and purchase tickets. Sky Cab ticket starts from 55 MYR/person which includes Sky Cab ride to the peak of the bridge and entry to 3D art museum.

The Sky Cab ride ticket includes free access to 3D Art gallery in Oriental Village and I must say, we were skeptical about visiting this on our own if it wasn't for inclusive access. We were really surprised when we actually entered the gallery. This place is an art gallery where every art painted on walls is an optical illusion and there are signs on the floor standing on which you need to focus your camera towards the art to see it come alive.

Pantai Kok is a small beach near Oriental Village and is en-route Sky Bridge. So you can decide to visit this while returning from Sky Bridge. Pantai Kok is a very small shore which is uninhabited and is known for yacht docking. We would not recommend swimming here because the beach has very less waves and you can best enjoy by just sitting under a palm tree and relaxing.

Rojak Hafiz is a small food truck on Pantai Kok shore which sells a few famous traditional Malay dishes. There is small table-chair setup in front of the food truck on the shore where your orders are served. We ordered the traditional Malaysian Laksa Noodle and cold jelly drink. Laksa is super flavorful coconut curry noodle soup with prawns, shrimp, fish chunks and boiled egg. The curry (soup) is rich, fragrant and a bit spicy and is a MUST-TRY. To complement the Laksa we also ordered Iced Tea with Jelly.

There are many more places to see nearby but we could only cover Sky Bridge on Day 2. Reason being that there is a long waiting at the ticket counter for Sky Cab and after purchasing the ticket, you are allotted a time window for entry to the waiting area from where you will board the Sky Cab. This waiting area again has a queue and the wait time on an average is 1-1.15 hours. But we will say that the wait is totally worth it. We decided to cover other spots on later days and returned back to our stay for the day.

On our way back we hit the superstore to grab a few beer cans as we wanted to relax on beer in our cottage. Since the entire Island is Duty Free alcohol rates are pretty cheap and can be found in almost all super store. For dinner we had bread slices with butter and Bananas. We did not want to have a heavy dinner since we were already full from the Laksa and Jelly drink at Pantai Kok and then later full on beer and chips.

Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language comedy drama film written and directed by Reema Kagti. It is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment and marked the debut of Reema Kagti as a director. The film is made up of six different stories.[2][3]

John Abraham and Shilpa Shetty were the first choices to play Jignesh and Shilpa, respectively. After Abraham refused to play the role of Jignesh, Shetty decided she didn't want to play Shilpa and backed out, too.[4]

Anupama Chopra of India Today gave a positive review saying "Thankfully, Kagti, who also scripted the movie, works with a light hand. There are a few leaden emotional scenes but they are crowded out by the non-stop fun and games. It all heads toward the superb set-piece item: Sajna main vari vari. The cast reads like a who's who of Bollywood's most underrated actors: Ranvir Shorey, Abhay Deol, Kay Kay Menon, Raima Sen. The last two are especially good as the Bengali couple whose equation changes as their honeymoon progresses. Kagti's is a fresh and original voice. This ride is worth taking."[6] Jaspreet Pandohar of BBC.com gave the film 3 out of 5 stars stating "Kagti's peppy screenplay and direction may not win awards for originality, but it's a decent effort from a young female filmmaker just starting out. Her likeable characters playing out quirky scenarios hold your attention. However, it's a select number of good individual performances, such as Kay Kay Menon's uptight spouse who lets loose thanks to some magic mushrooms, rather than a collective ensemble effort, that stops Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd from being a bigger success."[7]

Conversely, Khalid Mohamed writing for Hindustan Times stated "Despite a jumbo starcast, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd is just about passable."[8] Elvis D'Silva of Rediff.com gave the film 1.5 stars out of 5, writing "As a debutante it must be wonderful for director Reema Kagti to have the backing of major industry players like Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Nothing about the film serves as proof of that faith."[9]

Whether you're envisioning a romantic getaway, an adventurous escape, or a luxury retreat, one crucial question you might be asking yourselves is, What kind of experiences are we going to have on our honeymoon? What does honeymoon planning really look like? Yes, today, we're embarking on a journey into the enchanting world of honeymoon destinations, how to plan for the trip of a lifetime, essential considerations, and so much more.

So, grab your partner, set your out-of-office reply, or pop open a bottle of champagne (you're almost newlyweds, after all!) and get ready to dive deep because this episode is all about curating the perfect honeymoon for your newly minted marriage!

Imagine a place where the greenery is lush and overflowing, you're always greeted with a warm smile and the views are beyond breathtaking. Are you imagining it? Ok, good. Not exaggerating when I say that is just a sliver of the heaven that makes up the Amalfi Coast, my all time favorite place that we went to on our honeymoon. (You better believe I'm already planning our trip back!)

We started our honeymoon in the South of France and from there traveled to Italy and then for the last leg went back to France and stayed in Paris. The main focus of our honeymoon was ... eating. No surprise there if you followed along on Instagram stories! We pretty much planned our days based on the reservation we had booked. Both Jon and I had been to Europe before and visited a lot of the tourist attractions so this trip was all about diving into the culture and eating lots and lots of delicious food.

PRO TIP: always walk into town if possible. Parking is limited and can be confusing. They have uber available and plenty of taxis so you can always get a ride back to the hotel if you're too tired to walk back.

Whenever I travel I try to find the best local spot for organic juices and snacks. I know I'm going to load up on sweets and carbs throughout my trip so I try to have a staple place where I can get my greens and nutrients in. This organic oasis is located right in the heart of the city center in Aix. It's only accessible by walking or bike. No cars allowed on those streets.

PRO TIP: lattes are an American thing and if you ask for one in Europe you will most likely get a little warm milk mixed with a lot of espresso. It's typically very strong and doesn't compare to a latte as we know it. But this place gets it! So go here if you are a latte person.

This place was soooo cute. We went here a handful of times and I wish we had been able to go more! They have all of the classic French pastries and a tasty menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I loved their croissants but I still prefer Laduree for macarons. Oh! And it's a perfect spot to people watch.

PRO TIP: Do not order at the counter if you plan to sit outside at the cafe. It's not like American cafes where you can order take away and then sit down to eat. They do full table service pretty much everywhere you go and their prices are different depending on if you take away or sit down. The waiters make a living from their job at these cafes and will not allow you to sit if you don't order from them. No joke. I learned from experience!

If you don't stay at a hotel and want to go for more of a chill, living in the country side vibe, check out our AirBnb that we stayed in for a few days. The pool was amazing, the beds were comfy and the decor was sweet. Beware that a lot of AirBnb's in Europe ask you to do a handful of duties when you leave which is normally considered part of the cleaning fee in America. So they'll ask you to strip your beds, wash all the dishes, take out the trash, etc. Click here for the AirBnb we stayed in while we were in Aix en Provence.

Every day Monday - Friday there are open markets in the city center of Aix en Provence. They go between flower focused to veggie, fruit and bread focused. It's incredible and I highly suggest making sure you go to one.

PRO TIP: Cross check your travel dates to make sure they don't fall on national holidays in Europe. On National holidays EVERYTHING shuts down. Again, this isn't America. Nothing stays open with the exception of hotels. That includes gas stations, pharmacies, cafes, grocery stores. ALL CLOSED.
