Hello Lapsmiths and Mineral Lovers,

Josée has sent me the latest issue of "The Cutting Edge" and it is now
posted for viewing at http://olmc.ca/newsletter.htm

I have made some improvements to the site. I even polished up the logo,
so please check it out ( http://olmc.ca/). I am still hoping you guys
will come up with some pictures to liven it up.

Dirk has sent a copy of the database file which is the index to the
club library. In addition he sends greetings:

> P. S.: Say "hello" to the library staff at the club. God knows, how
> much these women have worked and few - if any - appreciate their work.

I am trying to figure out how to make this useful reference searchable
online. I'll have to learn some PhP and MySQL. If anyone in the club
knows anything about these kinds of things I would appreciate your
assistance.

Bye for now,
Steev

Hi Steev -

Here's one, taken by Grant - from left to right are:

Sherry Leduc, Ron St. Martin, Jennifer Abrams, Melanie Lukach, and Michael
Smelsky. I think I have more that Grant sent me in a zip format. Give me a
few minutes.

Hi again, Steev -

In regards to your enquiry about "computer nerd" stuff, I myself am a
technoslug ... it's like asking me to know how a car works because I can
drive it. I can use a computer, but don't know how to do the inner
workings.

All this to say, Ann(e?) Wilkens, who is a member of our club, is apparently
quite computer saavy, and from what I understand her husband works in
computers, so there may be an option there. However, I don't know her
e-mail addy. Karen may have it, so I'm cc-ing her, and also Frank Stoyles,
who I understand is currently doing the membership list. For now.
Hope one of them can help you on getting her e-mail. Otherwise, I'll ask
her next time I see her. Cheers!

Anna

Hi Steev,

I can see about getting some pictures of the July 16th Waba Gem, Jewelry, Art Show.

By the way, there is still room for a few more vendors for the show.  I will send another email with info about the show in case anyone from the club would like to participate.

Regards, Jill

Attn: Lapsmith Members,

As I mentioned in my previous email, there is still room for more exhibitors for the Waba show.  I have attached two documents (info & registration) for those who would like to participate in a fun show.  It is located in Waba (just outside of Arnprior) and is an hour west of downtown Ottawa.  Following is a poster.  Regards, Jill (Tel: 613-623-0689, led...@sympatico.ca, www.RetreatWaba.com)

Hello Members,

In case anyone plans to visit the show, I thought it would be best to provide an announcement to the group.

Unfortunately, we will need to postpone this year's Waba Gem, Jewelry, Art Show until next year.

The main reason for the cancellation is that I have been quite busy throughout the year and I have been traveling
frequently during the first 5 months of the year, which was the time needed for planning the show.  I tried to organize the show in a short time and faced the realization that the quality of the show has been greatly hindered.  I apologize for the inconvenience.  I feel that everyone (exhibitors, public, etc.) involved benefits and has fun when a show is organized well.  And a show organized poorly provides no benefit or pleasure for anyone.  Therefore, with much contemplation, I have decided to postpone this year's show until next year.

The good news is that we will have plenty of time for planning next year's show!

Next year's show will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006

We encourage you all to participate in the 2006 show.

All the best, Jill
