Yesterday afternoon at approx 4pm my home city of Perth, Western Australia was hit with the biggest storm we had seen in over 16 years. After almost 100+ days of no rain the clouds turned dark, lightning & thunder danced in the sky and we got 4 times more rain we see in a month in only 2 short hours.
Chaos hit the roads as the storm hit during peak hour traffic and especially with rain bucketing down causing more floods and mudslides than i have ever seen in Perth. To make matters worse hailstones the size of golf balls followed, damaging so many homes and cars. Heaven forbid you were stuck in a flood when the hail stones came.
Most of Perth went without power into the night and only now (more than 24hrs later) our power came on. Luckily for me i wasn't affected except for the power shortage and being out of touch with the rest of the world for that period of time i escaped all the media and photos of what actually happened until recently.
I was really worried that Upmarket would be canceled because UWA, the venue, was hit pretty hard with mudslides taking out the EDFAA (Education, Fine Arts and Architecture) Library. To think of all those books makes me so sad. However i just got word that it's still on and i'm just finalising on some pieces for the big day.
Before the windows gave out at the Library =(
All those books! *sniffles*
