President B Akins, Deena Hayes, and Gee Gee Greene met with the city of Greensboro and North Carolina cooperative extension representatives on April 20th. The OASNA community garden is going to family owned raised beds, pesticides have been sprayed and the area has been flagged. We will have 15, 5 by 16 plots available. If have not filled out a lease agreement, please fill out the attached document and bring it with you to the next neighborhood association meeting May 14th at 7pm located at the Nettie Coad Apartments community room: 503 Martin Luther King Jr Drive, parking is on Bragg Street! Hope to see you all there!
Also anyone interested in learning more about Cuba and ending the travel ban/economic blockade against Cuba please contact me at
me...@racialequityinstitute.org. We will be hosting a second info session also on May 14th at 7pm (ironically, bad planning) at the Beloved Community Center just around the corner. So if you are interested maybe we can schedule a meeting after the OASNA meeting.
