Summer Neighborhood Playground program set to begin on June 18
 
GREENSBORO, NC -- (May 11, 2012) -- Beginning Monday, June 18 through August 3, Greensboro Parks & Recreation will operate free summer neighborhood playground programs at seven sites. The operational hours will be Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, weather permitting. Each week, children, ages 5-15, will enjoy a variety of supervised activities such as sports, games, arts, crafts and special events. Children, age 5, must have completed kindergarten. Free lunches will be provided at all seven sites. The playground program will not operate on Wednesday, July 4, due to the City holiday.
 
Playground locations include:
 
  • Arlington Park, 1201 Bellevue St.
  • Douglas Park, 705 Douglas St.
  • East White Oak, 10th St.
  • Eastside Park, York St. and Perkins St.
  • Hampton Park, 3111 Four Seasons Blvd.
  • Hannaford Park, 1701 Hannaford St.
  • Steelman Park, 925 Highland Ave.
