Formerly called Southeast Greensboro, The Ole Asheboro Street Neighborhood is one of several small communities including Asheboro Square, Arlington Park and Gorrell St Neighborhoods. Together these neighborhoods would work together to advocate for community development efforts to improve the quality of life in this area. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive, formerly Asheboro Street (names Asheboro, people referred to this street that went all the way to Asheboro, NC). The Ole Asheboro Street Neighborhood Association is committed to making this community a viable and important part of Greensboro. We are a non profit neighborhood association. We meet the 2nd Monday of the month, 7pm at 503 Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive at the Nettie Coad Apts., parking and entrance is on Bragg St. The Nettie Coad Apts was named in honor of one of our residential founders and strongest advocate, Mrs. Nettie Coad. Mrs. Coad passed away in 2012 and worked to enhance this community until the day she died. Our current president Is Barbara "B" Akins.
