Dear Old South Brothers and Sisters,

It's that time of year again! Spring has sprung and we are building
our annual team for the Boston AIDS Walk on Sunday, June 3rd! For the
past
25 years, our beloved Jim McDonnel has lead our team to great heights
and has raised well over $300,000 for this cause. Jim has handed off
the torch to me to continue to lead Old South in this fight that
affects
so many people that we love! Please help me honor Jim McDonnel by
showing the City of Boston and the AIDS Action Committee that even
though our leader has passed the torch, it still burns bright at Old
South!

At Old South, we embody the ideals of mercy, beauty and justice. We
believe the Boston AIDS Walk allows us a unique opportunity to live
out these ideals in our local community. It is also an opportunity
to bear witness as a faith community in support of our brothers and
sisters living with HIV/AIDS. Old South has historically been one of
the highest fundraising teams in the walk.

There are 3 ways you can participate:

1. Join us as a walker or runner! Register online to be part of our
team,
fundraise and walk or run with us on June 3rd. http://action.aac.org/goto/oldsouthchurch2012

2. If you cannot join us to walk or run on June 3rd? No problem! You
can sign up to be a virtual walker, and fundraise toward our team
goals.

3. If you are unable to participate by walking, running or being a
virtual walker, I encourage you to pledge and support an Old South
team member by making a donation. Donations can be made online at
http://action.aac.org/goto/oldsouthchurch2012 or after any of our
services during Coffee Hour.

In all three cases, AIDS Action Committee provides great tools and
templates to make fundraising easy and effective.

I hope that you will consider joining or supporting our team this
year! In the words of Margaret Mead: “Never ever doubt that a small
group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed
it is the only thing that ever has.”

Reflect. Remember. Educate. Eliminate. This epidemic ends with us.
