Introduction to Week 1

Dear Participants,

We're very excited to see so many of you already active on the mailing lists, cloudworks, twitter, and your personal blogs.

This MOOC is project based - the core of your activity is organised around a learning design project that you will define at the beginning of the course and develop either individually or as part of a team. As you will see from the open discussion forum this MOOC is truly international, so we hope that global perspectives on learning design will inform your study circles and teams. Of course, we expect that some of you will spend more time than others - but whatever you do here could later be useful to you in your local learning design projects. As long as you share and discuss whatever you do then we gradually build our community knowledge of what we all mean by learning design.

This first week is about starting the discussion on central issues in learning design, about setting up your personal and collaborative work spaces, and initiating your projects. The activities in http://www.olds.ac.uk/the-course/week-1 will lead you through these goals. The timings on the site are advisory, and based on doing the minimum for each activity.
