Dear Dr. Mor

In the past we have sporadically informed you about new developments regarding iversity. The change will be disruptive this time.

In 2013 our main focus will be on the development of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). We are cooperating with the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft and will award ten fellowships to professors who are interested in producing an open course (see below).

So as not to disturb you by introducing a lot of changes, we decided to leave the existing platform untouched and let it run on a subdomain: From this day on you will gain access to your courses, groups and conferences at un.iversity.org

Furthermore in the next months all URLs, that you have been using so far, will be transferred to the respective new addresses. This means that if you for example have given links to your courses to your students, they will automatically be forwarded to your course on un.iversity.org. We hope that you will not encounter any problems because of the change. Should you, however, experience any problems, please do not hesitate to contact us at: sup...@iversity.org.

Announcement “MOOC Production Fellowship – Teaching and Learning online”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To develop our inaugural set of courses, we are partnering with a top German think tank the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (www.stifterverband.info) for Europe's first-ever MOOC contest.

From March 11, 2013 to April 30, 2013 universities and professors in Germany, the EU and the rest of the world can submit their concepts for Open Online Courses in any subject matter.

Ten winners – selected by both voting site visitors and a judging panel – will receive grants of €25,000 each to produce their courses, which will go live in October. Obviously we hope that those courses will draw tens or even hundreds of thousands of students.

We would like to invite you, to become a part of this initiative and apply for one of the fellowships at: www.moocfellowship.org

What is a MOOC – and why should you be interested in creating an Open Courses?
Have a look at our short introduction video.

You can find the announcement here in PDF format.

We would be very happy if you decided to forward this announcement or the link to http://moocfellowship.org to some of your colleagues, who might be interested in producing a MOOC. Alternatively, you also can nominate them directly on our website.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via Email or just give us a call.

Kind regards,
Jonas Liepmann
