Message from Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning)
Dear alumni,
The C9+1 Symposium to celebrate Innovation and Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Research Intensive Universities in China will be held in April at the University of Hong Kong. It is my great pleasure to invite you to join us on April 13, 2018 (Friday) in the Grand Hall, CPD-LG.07, 08, 09 and 18, Centennial Campus. The C9 universities and HKU will share their cutting-edge teaching and learning practices. Registration and details can be found at https://tl.hku.hk/c91-2018/.
The event aims to generate a platform for exchanging ideas, interactive dialogue and experience sharing among many university stakeholders. We will have a leadership summit on April 12 (Thur), teacher-led panel discussions on April 13 (Fri), and a student-led learning festival on April 14 (Sat).
The C9 League was formed in 2009 by nine key universities of the national 985 Project, namely, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Nanjing University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Xi’an Jiao Tong University and Zhejiang University. The first C9+1 symposium with senior management members only was held at HKU in 2010. Since then, HKU has been establishing significant relationships with individual universities of the C9 League. It is now time for C9+1 Universities to get together at all levels – senior management, teachers and students – to celebrate innovation and excellence in teaching and learning. We are all committed to making the C9+1 Teaching and Learning Symposium an annual event hosted in turn by the 10 institutions.
I look forward to seeing you on April 13, 2018!
Sincerely,
Professor Ian Holliday
Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning)
The University of Hong Kong
