We have a neighbor who has a lovely vintage Marchant adding calculator, from the 1940s.
He loves his machine, used to use it for surveying when he was in the Navy.
His power cord has gone missing, and I would love to be able to find a replacement so that he can use his machine again.

Have looked on ebay -- most of the machines have no power supplies.

Didn't take a picture, but the cord would need to fit 2 pins.
The machine is an ACT 10M, serial #166573.  From one website, it looks like it was produced in 1942.

Might anyone have such a power cord to spare, or sell?
It would bring a smile to his face to be able to use his adding machine, instead of the computer one of his sons gave him.

Thank you!
Cindy

I have various cords, but no idea if they fit that machine.
I would need pictures and dimensions.

I have the original cord. But not in my home. Will post photos and dimensions within few days.

But I personally would test the machine first by just attaching the wires to the correct places. And if it will work }or if I succeed to repair), I would seek for a cord. Unfortunately, there is nonzero probability that something will not work on such a complicated machine.

I think that description is better than the foto in this case.

In Marchant there are two pins (no grounding) of the length 10mm. The distance of the centers is 13mm and the diameter of each pin is 3 mm. The plug has simply to match these pins. It has oval shape of the width 27mm and height 12mm.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, Robert!  That photo and description are very helpful.
Does anyone have a cord like this?

Happy to purchase, if it seems like a good match.

Cindy

Cindy,
I had problem with my pc and I lost several emails including yours.
I have an Olivetti cord where the pins seem to be 13 mm apart.  The plug itself is about 32x14 mm.  It can probably be cut down.
