Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum. My name is Fuad Hirmas and i love old mechanical stuff (in general).

Last week i came across with a very old mechanical calculator made in Germany (As far as i know). Its in mint condition and everything spings great.

I'd love to learn how to use it and i hope someone in this forum can help me with some tips or where to find more info about it.

Any info would be much appreciated. I attached a picture of it.

Best regards.

Hello Fuad,

Too bad no one has replied yet. There is a small but specialised group of collectors who share a lot of information through websites. I assume that the different languages (German, ...) are not a problem these days. (I myself use the Deepl Translator extension in my browser).

Here are some links as a starting point:
*About Rema 1:
About the mechanics (inventor W.T. Odhner who built machines himself and soon sold a licence to Brunsviga):

Have fun looking into the past of these interesting machines.
Greetings,
Bart

Bart, I replied to Fuad with a link to instructions for such a machine but unfortunately I clicked on 'Reply to author' rather than 'Reply to all', so this would not be known to others here.  Thanks for adding the links to those other very informative sites.

Dear Bart, thank you so much for your help. I will check all of them and try to learn as much as I can.
