Dear Friends,

What can we do as Mangaloreans, Can we help some families in India
for a good cause, putting aside our differences?
Can we help someone in need during this time of Festive season, in being a good Christian?
Can we bring Christ back in our lives?
I am forwarding the message which Fr. Antony has forwarded earnestly requesting
for help from our Mangalorean brethren.
Please forward this message to other Mangaloreans,
as Our christian breathren in India are suffering, and will
need all the help they can get from us Christians spread across the world.
Thanks,
Ronald.
Friends!
I just came back from meeting with the President of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Metuchen. Sr. Ruth was present at the meeting also. They are happy with all the initiatives that we take in helping the flood victims.
As part of our initial plan, we will have the respective communities in the Apostolate to focus on catering to the needs of 200 families each and it will be considered as their personal ministry.
According to our budget we plan to help 1000 families with the total budget of $150,000. Each community would strive to raise around $30,000 (Each victim family would receive $150). I know this is a big total, but do not get discouraged!
Laxmipuram Parish (200 Families) - UTC
Basin Bridge (200 Families) - Goan Association
Puzhal (200 Families) - Mangalorean Association
Chengalpattu (200 Families) - Gujarati and Sri Lankan
Moolakadai (200 Families) - Fr. Antony and friends
Let us name the project - CHENNAI 1000
I am leaving for Chennai on the 25th of January. I will have the project paper ready to be submitted to the diocese and Bishop in Council along with the Catholic Charities would further push the project to the diocese. Collections, website ads, parishes all will receive information about our project. The President of the Catholic Charities said, all this will happen before Lent.
Let us celebrate a Mass together on the 16th of January at St. Magdalen Church, Flemington to thank God for our initiative and pray for the people. Coffee and Snack can be arranged of you like after the mass.
Please collect all you can and keep it within your group. The Diocese is organizing a special account for us so that transfer and future missions would be done through this. Collect money as your personal project.
We need flyers regarding the Chennai 1000 project and Mass.
Please pass on your suggestions and send this info to your friends.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Fr. Antony
