In the meantime, we were able to confirm a FOURTH tax warrant for
about $45K from 2003 from New York City which means Keith's tax woes
covered (so far) 2000, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008 or 5 of the last 9 years
and total close to $150K. One warrant is a data point. 4 warrants in
9 years is a pattern.
Perhaps the most interesting things to come out today was MSNBC's "non-
denial denial" in which they claimed the tax warrant we first reported
was "resolved". As the second link below shows this statement is
DEMONSTRABLY FALSE. The tax warrant has neither been vacated or
satisfied.
There are two ways to check a tax warrant - the NYS Tax Warrant
Database and the Records office at the county clerk's officer where
the judgement was entered. In this case, that means Albany County. I
spoke to the Clerk's Office and confirmed that the warrant was still
active. I even got the "index number" which is the official record
number for the judgement. I've ordered a copy and expect to have it
this week.
Rest assured we will be monitoring the situation so that when Keith
finally does satisfy the tax warrant we will have it on OlbyWatch for
you.
