I'm looking for a decent text/notification tone. I still have yet to find one that really grabs my attention. Feel free to mention some of your favorites and if you're up to it maybe attach a link for them. They can be stock tones or homemade ones!

I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to change the Message notification sound. I've found many articles and forum messages that describe how to change the setting but apparently they have recently changed things as the options are not what is described.

Hi,
I want to hear ringtones for calls but only vibrating for messages etc.
(Because i dont like to miss calls, and vibrating is a nice deal between nothing and beeping)
On samsung devices you have since years different volume bars for that and i thought it would be a general android feature.
( its something you cant do on iOS at all)

Exactly. The worst change in all iOS 17. They also changed the vibration so all apps have the same vibration. I used to recognize apps via the vibration and I knew what is important and what is not only by the vibration. So now I am looking for a way to downgrade because notifications are the BASICS of the phone and they changed it without a chance to customise it back yourself. No thanks.

Dear Apple,After os17 update the notification sound has changed, liked other people are also mentioning and it is becoming very annoying and not able change it make situation more worst. It unnecessarily make us think that what compromise we can face without our consent in the upcoming updates !!

I honestly dont know. I think that half the time they just assume that if they trigger a native notification for whatever OS / DE that it should handle the sound natively. Well KDE does but not in the way that they think.

Yes, I experienced this too, and my ear is still ringing and hurts. Especially, since I received one notification sound, followed by another one in 30 seconds from someone else. Something definitely is not right, but I did alleviate at someone with a Focus.

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! The audible notification sound can be heard on a call but should not be as loud as when the device is not in use. Since noticing this, has your iPhone been restarted? Restart our device can help resolve many random issues we may face with our devices.

Thank you for this information. The sound should lower when you are on a call. Restarting was to allow the phone to reset some of the settings. If you are still having the issues with the notifications alerts being too loud when on a call, we would recommend you contact Apple Support directly for more specific assistance with this issue.

Yeah its only Incoming thats not working...if I make a call it works well.... Listen, 50% of the time is better than nothing. At least I'm saving 50% of my hearing. The other half of the time I just have to remember to flip the switch to silent so it doesn't use the notification sounds.

You can change the sounds per account by opening the account settings Notifications Open system notification settings. Then press one of the channels belonging to one of the accounts and change the sound there.

It is just not possible to change the notification sound for every account! If set the sound for account 1 to sound A and then set account 2 to sound B, and then return to settings of account 1 there is also sound B set.

I have the KS8 which I believe is essentially the same as your 7Nx, and an iPhone 7. I have Notifications for Messages turned on, and the notification tone plays through the speakers and not the hearing aids. In the MFi screen I see there is an option to turn Ringtones on or off. Mine is on. It appears this only allows the phone ringtone, but not the message notification. I am on iOS 12.4.1.

re getting text messages in hearing aids my sign 5nx where receiving messages then a iPhone update in December 2019 to 13.1 removed this facility and after lots of phone calls to apple and getting no where I reported them to fair trading in Australia where I live, but that was also a complete waste of time to put it simply apple are Just not interested in reinstalling the function and will not give a real reason why they disconnected it in the first place well I hope there is some one out there who can get apple to stop with the arrogant attitude and sort out the mess they created

If Apple does they have to give to ones of us that do not want it to not have it to our aids but to have it to our phones and or watch. I for one am very happy that the notifications are not longer going to my aids. It was very irritation to have phone calls interrupted by the notification, as it was to have TV streaming interrupted. Too my advised to just turn the notifications off, well that is not acceptable either. We what the notifications just not to our hearing aids.

I was wondering how I could play a notification sound without playing it over the media stream. Right now I can do this via the media player, however I don't want it to play as a media file, I want it to play as a notification or alert or ringtone. heres an example of what my code looks like right now:

I had pretty much the same question. After some research, I think that if you want to play the default system "notification sound", you pretty much have to display a notification and tell it to use the default sound. And there's something to be said for the argument in some of the other answers that if you're playing a notification sound, you should be presenting some notification message as well.

However, a little tweaking of the notification API and you can get close to what you want. You can display a blank notification and then remove it automatically after a few seconds. I think this will work for me; maybe it will work for you.

The Android expected behaviour is to use the standard Notification to alert the user. If you play a notification sound without the status bar icon, you get the user confused ("what was that sound? there is no icon here, maybe I have hearing problems?").

Yes I have the same issue, message notifications make a sound when unlocked, but not when locked, Lock Screen does not even light up when notification received. If I wake it up the notification is there.

I took out my very old iPhone se (1st gen) and started using it again, it is supposed to be compatible with iOs 15. When I get text or email it vibrates very gently, like I can feel it if I'm holding it in my hand, but no notification sounds, no ringtone when I get a call.

Like many of you, my notifications volumes was minuscule compared to the ringer volume on my iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 15.0.2.Then I found the following solution suggested (I don't remember where I found it):

I have the same issue with notification sounds not working unless the phone is unlocked. However, the notification still sounds on my watch. When I turn off Bluetooth, the notification sound works just fine.

To set up flashing light notifications on an Android, tap Settings > Accessibility > Hearing > Flash Notifications. Next to Camera Light and Screen, turn on Flash Notifications. If your Android doesn't support flash notifications, check for third-party apps on the Google Play Store.

While you can't completely get rid of the "sticky" AVG Antivirus notification, you can minimize it. For Android 10 or later, tap and pull down the status bar, tap and hold the AVG notification, and then tap Details. Tap Sticky or Permanent, and select Minimize notifications.

I would recommend you to cast your vote(s) as well as keep an eye on the JIRA ticket as well here - MM-467: Design: Account Settings option to select different notification sounds (sound files attached)

Currently it is not possible to have notifications triggered based on keywords, for example if there are any emergency keywords, a certain ringtone or vibration (or both) will be triggered. This would be important in the event of any emergency that...

To turn that on, go to Account > Notifications > Push Notifications > Voice Over IP and toggle it on. For me this has been a game changer as now I get a different notification when the doorbell is rung and I can immediately see who is there.
