Experience better performance and greater flexibility for your laptop with dual-band connectivity. Either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency band can be selected with top speeds at 300Mbps and 867Mbps respectively.

Hi, I installed the drivers on Ubuntu/Debian based distros but the USB wifi adapter does not automatically connect to Wifi on reboot. I also have to reconnect to my network but it saves as a new connection each time. Any suggestions?

I'd highly recommend looking for hardware that have support in the kernel, even if that means deeper searching to find a dual-band adapter. It's been solid when it works, but for now, I'll be switching to Powerline Ethernet adapters.

I use an older Acer (GN246HL) monitor that only allows higher refresh rates through DVI dual link. I'm using the DisplayPort out to an active adaptor so I can get higher refresh rates, but I get no "advanced settings" in the Arc Control setting for custom resolutions. If I use CRU to set up a custom resolution, the resolution doesn't become available after driver restart. If I use an HDMI to DVI dual link adaptor I get a "wrong cable" message (although it now works at 120 Hz). I've seen a few responses to similar issues, but no resolution to my problem.

This USB Wi-Fi adapter adds dual-band wireless connectivity to your laptop, tablet or desktop computer, and features a compact nano-sized form factor. It makes it easy to replace or upgrade your computer's existing wireless capability with access to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.

The dual-band USB Wi-Fi adapter adds reliable Wireless-AC connectivity to your laptop, tablet or desktop computer. As bandwidth-intensive applications such as online conferencing, HD video streaming, file transfers and gaming become more demanding, the USB Wireless-AC adapter provides greater speed and range for your office or home wireless network. The dual-band Wi-Fi adapter supports maximum data rates of up to 433 Mbps on the less congested 5GHz band, plus up to 150Mbps on the 2.4GHz band.

The most commonly used wireless adapters are the dual-band wireless USB adapter like the TP-Link Archer T2U Nano wireless adapter. It comes in two frequency bands - 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 2.4GHz network frequency travels further at lower speeds, while the 5GHZ connection provides faster speed at a shorter network range. So, if your work requires you to move frequently around the house, a 2.4GHz frequency connection can be your best bet. Furthermore, you can choose the 5GHz frequency connection by staying close to your network router to take advantage of higher network speeds for gaming or video-conferencing, and more. Most dual-band wireless USB adapters come with IEEE 802.11n (Wi-Fi 4) wireless standards as they can deliver data across two frequencies. Home wireless routers come with the IEEE 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) wireless standard, and these adapters comply with the standard. They operate in the 5GHz frequency range, and can support up to 13Gbps network speed. If you are into high-end gaming or use streaming services, the NETGEAR AC1200dual-band wireless USB adapter can be a great choice. Besides supporting a 2.4GHz frequency range, IEEE 802.11a/n/ac wireless standard compliant, and the 5GHz frequency band, these devices can offer up to 600 Mbps internet speed.
