Dear Friends and Members of OKTESOL,

By now most of you should have received the Spring 2009 OKTESOL newsletter and have seen that there is a lot going on with OKTESOL!  This week we have Spring Fling on the campus of Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Broken Arrow.  It's free, so come spend your morning with us. Details and schedule are at http://www.oktesol.com.

Speaking of OKTESOL.COM, it has actually been updated and is continuing to grow and become more useful. We are also on Facebook (search for OKTESOL) and would love for you to join our group.

OKTESOL has also started a Google Group that will eventually replace an actual mailed newsletter.  The group is very much like a listserv, but has some additional benefits. Files, message archives, and digest style messaging will help OKTESOL stay in touch while avoiding adding to the masses of email you already receive.  Please drop by the website and join the OKTESOL Google Group (the link is on the left side near bottom). Future mailings will go through this group's email address (okt...@googlegroups.com.)

OKTESOL, like may organizations, is moving towards a paperless future. Mailing out paper newsletters is becoming cost prohibitive and we are going to move newsletters to the web. It may not happen on the next newsletter, but it very likely will happen. To make up for the loss, we plan to provide more information, more often, and in a more timely manner. Join our groups and stay involved and up-to-date!

Finally, OKTESOL has embarked on a project that will bring us a yearly professional journal. The Oklahoma TESOL Journal needs editors, proofreaders and your scholarly articles. If you are interested, drop by http://okjournal.oktesol.com for details or to sign-up.

Thanks for reading and please drop by OKTESOL.COM.

(If you do not wish to be on this mailing list, which we promise to only use when OKTESOL has news or announcements of note, just reply and say "Goodbye" and I'll remove your name.  If you do want to get OKTESOL news, please subscribe to the OKTESOL Google group/listserv!)
