The last Hacknight went well, so let's do it again.

Join us anytime between 6pm and 8pm Thursday May 10th at the Red Cup.

Some of the things that you might get to do at hacknight if you show
up:
- learn about something new and cool with Ruby/Rails
- gossip about things people have done in the Ruby community
- show people your pet project, get feedback, fix bugs
- pair program with someone on your or their code
- try out a new library, api, or tool
- have some good coffee and food

The Red Cup is located at 3122 N. Classen Blvd OKC, OK. 73118.

If you get there first, and it is free, sit at the big table and fend
off anyone not wearing a ruby shirt.

I'm going to use the opportunity to play with RubyMotion. Anyone else
interested in that?

I'll be there. I'm still on the fence about RubyMotion, but this will be a good opportunity to see it live.

Sounds interesting. Anyone done anything with ruboto (android jruby development), or similar? Would be nice to see how to get started with both.

Hi everyone!

I enjoyed seeing everyone and hacking last night. These hacknights
are going well and I would like to see them continue into the future.
I think we could easily be held once or twice a month. They are very
causal, people can come and go as they please, involve random
discussion and sharing, bug hunting, hacking and other good fun.

_Anyone on the list_ should feel free to organize a Hacknight on any
night of the month at the location of their choice.

If you want to organize a Hacknight, it is easy! Choose a location
somewhere in OKC, Edmond, Moore or Norman where a group of 2 to 10
people can meet up and casually discuss and hack away for 2 or 3 hours
in the evening. Coffee shops work well, but other locations, such as
local tech businesses or even your home could work as well.
Availability of drinks and food are somewhat important, so like I
said, coffee shops work well.

Then promote the time, date and location on this list. The other list
members will help you promote it even if they can't attend. Please
promote the Hacknight with something like a week of advance notice so
people can schedule it into their calendars.

It is also good to suggest something that you might like to talk
about or hack on, or need help fixing at the meeting, when you promote
the meeting. This last meeting I brought up RubyMotion in the email
and that worked well.

I would also suggest for members who want to attend to +1 (reply in
the thread) to say so.

If I recall correctly from last night's meeting, Kelley is looking to
have one in Edmond in the near future.

Cheers,
Derrick

What does everyone think about having another on Thu the 24th in Edmond. We can have it at Vintage Timeless Coffee (33rd/western, great food and coffee) or at The Div depending on how many that want to come or if someone has something they want to show on the projector.

It's really informal so bring up some code to show off or get some help with and discussion usually spins off from there. I'll see if I can't get my RealTimeRails project back up and running using socket.io and I can show anyone that wants how to get it setup and make use of it.

I can't make that date, because it's my wedding anniversary.  I can always catch the next one though.  Have a great time!

I can likely make it. I've not been to Vintage Timeless but would like to try it.

If you decide to hold it, let us know for sure by next Monday so we can promote it.

Just realized something else, Vintage Timeless Coffee closes at 6:00 on Weds. How about http://cafeevoke.com I've heard good things about it as well. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=103+south+broadway+edmond+ok&hl=en&ll=35.65353,-97.481657&spn=0.005048,0.008079&hnear=103+S+Broadway,+Edmond,+Oklahoma+73034&gl=us&t=m&z=17

It looks like this week is going to be busier than I though.  I guess I can't make it this time.  Sorry.

I'll try to catch the next one.
