On Friday afternoon, around 2:47 p.m., the LaGrange Fire Department responded to the Google data center construction site located at 411 Pegasus Parkway for a reported injury involving a worker on the roof of the structure.

Upon arrival, crews determined the individual had sustained injuries while working approximately 50 feet above ground level. Due to the elevated location and complexity of the rescue, additional resources were requested, including Tower 31, an 85-foot aerial platform.

Fire personnel, along with Troup County AMR and the site’s on-site response team, provided immediate medical care while stabilizing the patient on the roof. Crews then carefully moved the individual to the roof’s edge, where they were secured and safely lowered to the ground using the aerial platform.

Once on the ground, emergency personnel continued advanced medical care. Air Evac 77 was requested and landed at the site, transporting the patient to a regional trauma center. The individual was reported to be in serious but stable condition.

This incident highlights the coordinated efforts of the LaGrange Fire Department, LaGrange Police Department, Troup County AMR, and on-site personnel, whose teamwork ensured a safe and efficient rescue from a challenging elevated environment.

Rescues involving elevated work areas present unique challenges, requiring specialized equipment, technical coordination, and a strong focus on safety for both responders and the patient.

The LaGrange Fire Department encourages all construction personnel to remain vigilant when working at heights and to follow established safety protocols to help prevent injuries.
