So lets write a damm good reply!
Second try to do 1 question/answer at a time if you have to do an IRC
interview, alot of the comments could be taken out of context because a
answer is after the next question. Example:
<ge-> why do every anti spam guy out there say blue security is wrong?
<ge-> you really believe that?
<tortanick> yep
Slow the conversation down if you have too, you control it.
Everyone needs to take the words Attack out of thier vocabulary, forget
the word exists! We do not attack, we respond! Attack brings up images
of war.
Next, when confronted with the "experts say Blue Frog didn't work" ask
the reporter what ideas those experts have then to stop spam, and if
they are such experts why arn't the comming up with effective ideas?...
because the funny part is 99% of the "Experts" have no clue... your not
an expert till you have an answer.
Give complete answers, restate the question if you need to, a longer
answer is going to jump out.
These are just some of the points, again Tortannick it isn't your fault
your new to this so I'm not blaming you, but if others can learn from
your mistakes like we are learning from Blue Security's mistakes we
will do better next time.
I will jump in the rebutal process as soon as I can.
a) We were never informed about the interview before it took place
b) You don't form part of the Okopipi Steering Commitee - anyone could
give an opinion about the program, but they're not taking the actual
programming decisions.
d) The next time you're asked for a chat interview, ask us first. If
the reporter says "oh but i don't have time! boo hoo", just say NO.
Votes, please?
If you decide to do what you suggest here would be the proper way to do
it, Declare an Official Spokesperson, have that person contact the
writter and state that because the project is so new people were
volunteering for roles by placing themselves on the wiki and Tortanick
was placed as the head of PR as a suggestion. The final decision HAD
NOT been made yet and although he had good intentions he was not
speaking for the group. Then offer a complete interview with a
designated spokesperson to the writer.
Tortanick: Don't take this personally, even the best PR people with
years of experiance slip up at times, you gave it a great effort.
