Please note that a small upward premium adjustment to your group’s insurance policy is being made in order to accurately reflect the underlying costs of providing coverage to your members. A combination of three factors is looked at each year at the renewal – the mortality rate of all insured members of the entire cultural community insured with the Hartford Life group plan, the current ages of insured members in your group, and the cost of policy administration.
Premium changes will be effective as of the September billing for groups that have chosen monthly or quarterly premium modes. Semi-annual and annual groups will have the adjustments coincide with their original issue date (also their open enrollment date for new members). Groups that have been insured for less than one year will not have a premium adjustment.
Please note: There is a specific form for newly insured members and another form for currently insured members who have never filled out a beneficiary form.
