Festival: the entertainment is list is almost set. We have room for
one more band and one more individual act. We have acquired another
medic and “step and fetch it” for the festival. Tammy has secured
total sponsorship for the medic tent. Latricia and TJ handed out 18
flyers at the Medieval Fair in Norman. All but one was very
receptive. They looked for different things than what we have had in
the past, colorful/inviting booths, variety of prices and interest,
consumer goods and interactive activities.
Entertainment: no report
Parade: The parade will be going further up Classen before it does a
u turn. It will also go a couple of blocks further at the end past
the new Boom.
Volunteer/Membership: no report
Fund-raising: There will be a benefit at the Wreck room on 5/2/09. A
car wash has been scheduled for 4/18 at Alibi’s. We will be car
hopping at Sonic on 39th on 4/25. We have raised $1416.00 at
Partner’s, $701.00 at The Boom, and $762 selling jello shots at Copa.
The committee discussed delivering yellowbooks but decided to wait
until after Pride to give this serious consideration. Jello shots
again on 4/3 and 4/4 and 4/17 and 4/18. Kirk Martin discussed a 50/50
raffle with the gay bowling league and details are still pending.
Next meeting 4/15 at Applebee’s on Memorial at 7:00 pm. We need
budgets from all the committees by 4/20/09 so we will know what we
need to raise.
PR: no report. Todd Clark has been appointed co-chair and the
website has been placed under the PR committee.
Website: Guy does not change or add anything to the website unless he
hears about the changes from a committee chair or board member.
Domain renewals are due and they are $30.00. Any emails you send Guy
about stuff on the website should also be sent to Todd Clark. Nathan
Thompson volunteered to write press releases.
Teen/Student: 4/18 is a car wash at Alibi’s. We will be car hopping
at Sonic on 39th on 4/25. A benefit has been planned for 5/2 at the
Wreck room. Thinking about doing a drag queen calendar. There will
be a teen party at the Days Inn. Next meeting is 4/13 at 7:00pm at
the Belle Isle IHOP.
39th Street: Scott Jaggers has been talking with the noise permit
office and thinks we can get the permit until 11:00pm. The block
party will be on Youngs down toward Phoenix and past the Boom and the
street will be blocked off.
Bylaws: Next meeting 4/14/09 at 7pm at the Boom. Agenda items are
review bylaws from other organizations, structure and hierarchy,
member’s handbook, equal representation of the sexes, and full tear
down & re-write vs. tweak. Meetings are open to all interested
parties and we encourage all OKC Pride members who may have an opinion
on the matters mentioned above to attend.
