BOARD MEETING
JUNE 8, 2009

Members present: Sally Blevins, Todd Clark, Dean Crawford, John
Gibbons, Dustin Green, Tammy Ince, Kirk Martin, TJ McKinsey, Latricia
Olmstead, Guy Peters, Chris Plante, David Smith, Nathan Thompson.

Guests: Deidre Love, Lisa Escalor, Chelsea Britt

Meeting was called to order by co-chair Latricia Olmstead at 7:08 pm.

Membership comments—There is an organization that we need to be aware
of and to take great caution in dealing with them. It is Project
Pride Foundation.

Motion by Dustin Green with second by Chris Plante to approve agenda.
Motion passed.

Secretary’s report: Motion by Dustin Green with second by Chris
Plante to approve the previous meetings minutes. Motion passed.

Treasurer’s report: Main account has $17,043.62 and operating account
has $1,348.40.

Co-chair—talked to Patricia about material for canopies and key to
mobile mini and tax records. There was an issue brought to our
attention about an member still seeking sponsorships for the
newsletter. An email was sent to the member asking him to stop doing
this. He responded that he has not been doing it.

Committee Reports

Festival: really coming together. There are still very few non
profits. We are still looking for snack vendors.

Entertainment: still need one spot filled. Pet contest still needs
judges. Winners get a trophy and a prize package.

Parade: parade orientation at 2pm on 6/13/09 at Belle Isle IHOP.
Looked at ear pieces for the radios. Motion by Kirk Martin to approve
up to $100 for ear pieces. Second by Miles Tompkins. Motion passed.

Volunteers/Membership: Meeting on 6/12/09 at 7pm at Belle Isle IHOP.
Still concerned we don’t have enough volunteers for set up.

Tshirt/Fundraising: next date for jello shot sales at Copa is
8/13/09. Opening Night is 6/22/09. Board members get tickets to sell
from Dean Crawford.

Public Relations: $185 for postcards. $200 for 100 each of the
posters. Motion by Dean Crawford with second by Chris Plante to
approve $385.00 to pay for the postcards and posters. Motion passed.
Kings limo has donated a limo to take Ruby Ann Boxcar to her press
events.

Website/Database: be sure to give Guy info about the parade.

Teen/Student: Wreck Room raised $140.00. Teen party will be on
6/27/09 from 7 to 10 pm at the Days Inn. This is called The Luau.
Expecting 200 people from ages 17 to 20.

39th Street: we are closing down Barnes to Copa and the slip and
slide will be on Barnes. $1400.00 is needed to Action Safety and
Supply Co. and $500.00 is needed for fencing. Motion by Chris Plante
with second by Kirk Martin to approve $1900.00. Motion passed.

Bylaws: no report

Old Business: none

New Business:

TJ needs approval of $75.00 for copying flyers. Motion by Kirk Martin
with second by Chris Plante to approve $75.00. Motion passed. TJ
still needs stuff for bags.

Motion by John Gibbons with second by David Smith, to suspend the
fines for the three groups we fined for throwing stuff from floats at
last year’s parade. Amendment by Miles Tompkins with second by Kirk
Martin to send these groups a letter asking to attend a meeting with
the OKC Pride Board so we can engage in dialogue with them and try to
bring the groups together for the community. Motion passed with one
abstention: TJ McKinsey.


Motion to adjourn by Dean Crawford with second by TJ McKinsey. Motion
passed.
