BOARD MEETING
2/2/09
Members Present: Patricia Miller, Dean Crawford, Guy Peters, Paul
Thompson, Latricia Olmstead, David Smith, Colin Raley, Brad Murray,
Steven White, Shane Green, Hunter Phillips, Daniel Quinn, Steve
Thompson, Sean Spivey, Scott Jaggers, Todd Clark, Bobby Brunk, Derek
Chowning, Blake Lippert, John Gibbons, Ryan Smith, Don Derrick, Dustin
Green, Floyd Martin, Miles Tomkins, Kelly Carter-Scott, TJ McKinsey
Meeting was called to order by co-chair Latricia Olmstead at 7:07
The minutes from 12/15/08 and 1/5/09 were distributed to the
membership for review. It was moved by Ryan Smith, with second by
Kelly Carter-Scott, to approve the minutes as presented. Motion was
approved.
Treasurer’s report: written report submitted. Funds on hand--
$3007.59. We still owe the Zoo $1,000.00. It was moved by Ryan
Smith, with second by TJ McKinsey, to have the monthly fee for the
Mobile Mini set up on autodraft. Motion approved. It was moved by
Ryan Smith, with second by Renee Anderson, to approve the Treasurer’s
Report. Motion was approved.
Co-chair—No report.
Festival—David Walsh called the City of Oklahoma and there seems to be
no problems having the festival at Memorial Park. Paul will get in
touch with the City to confirm this information.
Entertainment—No report. Renee Anderson would like to join this
committee.
Parade—Some research was done and a company has been found to do the
clean up of the parade. The company is Adecco.
Volunteer/Membership: Miles has been sending out emails to all the
volunteers. If you are on the volunteer list and have not been
receiving the emails please get with Miles so he can add you to the
list. Also Miles is asking for a secondary type of contact such as a
phone number for every one. Membership cards are going to be made.
It was moved by Dean Crawford, with second by Ryan Smith, to approve
up to $50.00 to be reimbursed to Miles Tompkins for materials to make
the membership cards. Motion was approved.
T-shirt/Fundraising—No report. Todd Clark volunteered to help with
this committee.
Public Relations—No report.
Website—OKC Pride, Inc is now on Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace. Dean
Crawford(Secretary) asked to be added to the list that receives the
emails that are sent to the info@okcpride email address.
Teen/Student—No report.
Old Business
1) board training—nothing has been scheduled yet.
New Business
1) The budget for the festival and parade was asked for. It was
estimated that the total is around $35,000. $7500 for the parade and
around $23,000 or $24,000 for the festival.
2) Grand Marshall—ideas were talked about. A popular idea was Megan
Mulally. Ryan Smith might have some contacts that could check into
this. John Beebe volunteered to get in touch with some agents to get
some names of talent that we could consider.
3) Emergency policy and procedures—Kelly Carter-Scott volunteered to
write and submit emergency weather policies and procedures for
approval.
4) Meeting place—we need to a new place to meet that won’t cost us
anything. Kelly Carter-Scott volunteered to call some churches about
this.
5) Elections—It was moved by Scott Jaggers, with second by Ryan Smith,
to suspend the rules and open up elections for vacant board positions
(up to 7 additional members) to the membership. Motion was approved.
Nominations were made. It was moved by Ryan Smith, with second by
Scott Jaggers, to close nominations. Motion was approved. The
nominees were Dustin Green, Steve Thompson, John Gibbons, John Beebe,
Floyd Martin David Smith, and Sonja Martinez. It was moved by Blake
Lippert, with second by Ryan Smith, to vote on nominations. Motion
was approved. It was moved by Colin Raley, with second by Ryan Smith,
to vote on all 7 nominations as a slate with a roll call vote. The
results of the vote were unanimous with the following members voting:
Guy Peters, Dean Crawford, Patricia Miller, Paul Thompson, David
Smith, Colin Raley, Brad Murray, Steven White, Shane Green, Hunter
Phillips, Daniel Quinn, Steve Thompson, Sean Spivey, Scott Jaggers,
Todd Clark, Bobby Brunk, Derek Chowning, Blake Lippert, John Gibbons,
Ryan Smith, Don Derrick, Dustin Green, Floyd Martin, Miles Tompkins,
Kelly Carter-Scott, and TJ McKinsey.
6) Reconsider fees for the parade and festival for non profits—We will
continue on a case by case basis.

It was moved by Scott Jaggers, with second by Ryan Smith, to adjourn.
Motion was approved.
