Official Statement from the Board of Directors of OKC Pride, Inc.
(Oklahoma City – July 10 2009 --) It has come to the attention of the
Board of Directors for OKC Pride, Inc. that there have been some
discrepancies in the financial records of our organization leading up
to and following the celebrations for OKC Pride 2009. The initial
investigation has revealed that several recent deposits to our bank
account are unaccounted for.
Unfortunately, this has caused some payments to be returned to our
bank as unpaid. The Board of Directors is taking this matter extremely
seriously and we are committed to resolving all outstanding debts to
those people and organizations that have been affected. We have
reported the incident to the appropriate authorities and turned over
documents and information for further investigation as well as
possible criminal prosecution of the alleged person involved.
The amount of money that is unaccounted for is substantial. However,
it would be inappropriate to speculate on the total amount until a
full investigation has been completed.
The Board of Directors would like to extend our deepest apologies to
the community for this terrible act of apparent greed by one person.
Again, we are taking this act very seriously and will complete all due
diligence to fully resolve this situation. Be assured that we are
committed to exploring every legal option, both criminal and civil,
open to us to make sure the alleged person involved is held
responsible for this deplorable action.
We invite members of the community to our next meeting where this
situation will be discussed as openly and honestly as possible. The
meeting will be held at the Boom Restaurant on Monday, July, 13 at
7:00 p.m.
