Board Meeting Minutes 11/3/08
Members Present: Miles Tompkins, Latricia Olmstead, Paul R. Thompson,
TJ McKinsey, Patricia Miller, Guy Peters, Dean Crawford
Guests: Mandy Goforth, Crystal Elmore, Christi Blair
Meeting was called to order by co-chair Paul Thompson.
Minutes from previous meeting were not distributed or approved because
they were not available.
Treasurer’s report: Funds on hand-$3409.70. Reconciliation statement
will be available next meeting. We still owe the Zoo $1000.00 and
$198.65 to various members for receipts turned in to be reimbursed.
Co chair report: Neighborhood Alliance is cutting down on groups that
can meet in their building so we need to find a new location to meet.
Do we want to participate in MLK parade on 1/19/09? Miles will be in
contact with volunteers to see if they will participate. TJ will call
Vern to see inquire about big rainbow flags. Patricia will call
Rainbow to see about hand held and little rainbow flags.
Festival: will be at Remington Park June 27-28, 2009. No city
permits will be needed unless they are for the parade.
Entertainment: no report
Parade: no report
Volunteer: Miles plans to stay in touch with volunteers and ask if
they would be interested in helping with fundraising. He will
communicate with the volunteers to see what kind of fundraisers they
would like to participate in.
Membership: Membership cards will be given at a later date. Perks
for Pride membership will be determined at a later date.
T-shirt/fundraising: no report
PR: no report
Website: theme has been added to the website. The logo contest will
be advertised on the site as well. The deadline is 12/1/08.
Teen/student: Guy got some contacts at last week’s rally.
Old business: the t-shirts that were ordered for 2008 Pride have been
received. 2 orders still need to be delivered.
Park gateway sign—is finished. Waiting on the stone pylons to be
made. Also waiting on permits.
New business: Info pack—a committee will meet on 11/16 at the IHOP on
Classen at 2:00 pm to discuss it. If you have any ideas for
sponsorship please bring those to the meeting as well.
Pride 2009 logo contest—deadline is 12/1/09. All entries need to be
received by that date. All entries need to be submitted in Vector
high resolution.
Gay day at the Zoo—6/20/09.
It was moved by Miles Tompkins and seconded by TJ to open all
regularly scheduled OKC Pride meetings to the public and publicize the
time and location on our website(and other media outlets) to encourage
attendance. One of the co-chairs will call a special meeting if a
need arises for the board to meet outside of the regularly scheduled
meeting dates.
Motion passed.
Announcements: get agenda items to Guy by the 2nd and 4th Mondays of
the month.
No mail bag.
