Go Go Power Rangers
you Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!

I would second the language choice, but I will be in Stillwater
Thursday night for the football game. :(

Good point.  Does this have to happen on Thursdays?  When is the next time we might be able to get a few people together?

I'd be up for meeting any day but Tuesday or Friday next week.

I am game. There is a meeting tonight. It does not have to be Thursday evenings.

So anybody going to show up tonight?

I'm looking at go (heard about it) - what is a reason to mess with this language now?

What does it offer that other, better-supported languages do not?

There are different versions of the compiler for different platforms. It's all command line. No tool support. It's like going back to the 70's from a build perspective. Concurrency is a plus. We going to have anybody who can get in to that tonight?

I'm still game, but I'm underwhelmed with the language and I have not even used it yet. (Installing all the crap now.)

I will not be able to attend tonight - 7th grade basketball season has
started and I would prefer my daughter continue to talk to me :)

I might be able to show late after the game is over, but I will need
to figure that out later today.

Go (not to be confused with Go! as that's a language as well) is the new systems programming language from non other than our royal internet leaders Google.

Supposed to be really fast at compiling and testing and such... but I'm not a systems programmer as far as I know.. so is useless...

Unfortunately I can't attend tonight either.  Have previous plans.  I'm up for next week though.

I would have to plan further ahead too.

My reason for wanting to play with it would be similar to wanting to try out Arc.  Just because it's a new language and would be fun. :)

I'm game. It's like a lot of things, yet another language, might solve a problem, forces working low level ... a true reflection of the lack of history so well practiced in our field.
