XLIFF 2.0 filter: how mature is it?

Dear all (addressing main developers):

I see Rainbow includes a XLIFF 2.0 filter, which I haven't ever used in production. It ships with a note "Beta only. The XLIFF v2 specification is a draft.", which sounds like an invitation to extreme caution.

I would like to ask for some informed feedback about the level of maturity of that filter. Is it as safe to use as the one for XLIFF 1.2 ?

If it's not, are there plans to include a new, more mature version in future releases of Rainbow?

Short answer: no. xliff 1.2 has over a decade of development and testing.

However, we expect to quickly close that gap this year and next. xliff 2 is gaining traction - especially at large companies who want to future proof thier workflows.
