Sidewalks

Hi all,

I generally don't send out emails to everyone but I want to get the word out on an important issue.  My dog was hit by a car while walking him in a Navarre neighborhood.  We were hit partly due to poor lighting and no sidewalks.  The dog could have easily been a child.  I don't know if you recall the couple that was killed a few months ago while walking their dog. 

I do not think our county leadership is doing their job.  I intend on starting a website and petition to try to force them to put sidewalks in.  Please spread the word.  I am writing a letter to the county commissioner (district 5) as well as the newspaper.

Here's what he said:

There are several subdivisions in un-incorporated Santa Rosa County that have chosen to impose a MSBU (Municipal Services Benefit Unit) upon themselves to pay for sidewalks and/or lighting. If enough neighbors are interested, they should contact the County's Budget Director, Joel Haniford, to see how they can complete the process and have these items installed in their neighborhood. It requires a petition too, but there is a new tax when they get the proper number of signatures. His number is 983-1860.

Going well. Get about 3-4 games a year end but way out of shape. Wish I had more time but with 3 kids swimming it's hard but I love watching them. My wife coaches them.
