Grandma use to set a bushel basket of corn under the `ole' wood stove each day
during the winter months. The corn would heat up all day; then at bedtime, as
her eleven children filed past the stove on the way to bed, grandma would fill
a pillowcase with hot corn for each so there would be a warm bed for all.
Mom updates the procedure by creating a corn filled pillow with a pretty,
washable pillowcase that is heated in the micro-wave for 2 - 4 minutes. Once,
heated, it can be used under the covers (like grandma intended), to relieve
sore muscles, or just to feel warm & toasty watching the boob tube. **note:
these are not intended to replace existing furnaces...the heat lasts 45
minutes
to an hour. Oh yeah, if you put it in the freezer, they make a wonderful cold
pack as well!
