This is not the same Jerry Morgan that posts to these newsgroups. The
physical description is proof to anyone that has met Jerry.

Ivan can't handle posting URLs, so he has to have someone help him.

Yeah, I'm a taller than what's listed in the description.

How do I know the jerry morgan posting here is a Nam. area Vet? Who really knows
for sure anything about the posters in this or any usenet..Thats why no one really
puts much faith in what is written in them.

They were drafting young back then. ;-)
What is so comical about Ivan floundering around trying to find
something 'on me' is there are so many Jerry Morgan's.
Some of them have a given name of Jerry while with others it's an
'aka' for their real name.
Jerry Morgan is a very common name, Ivan Hersh on the other hand...
To demonstrate the point:

Same thing with me.
For instance, when I was in Boot Camp, in my series (for those not familiar
with it, a platoon consisted of 80 men, a series contained 4 platoons) there
were -three- with my first and last name.
It'd be nice if he had any clue what he was posting...

Heh, yeah, that too.
I've met Jerry. I know without a doubt that it's a different Jerry Morgan.
You're grasping for straws and coming up empty handed.

When has Ivan *not* grasped at straws and come up empty handed?
It's just part of his nature, it seems.

Well that and failing to give him either a memory or brains for that

Evidently, both failures contribute to his inability to post under any

Isn't there some rule or law about impersonating others?

Could it be that we are dealing with a "Dickless Ivan"?
Hmmm.

Probably. However, Ivan's problem is that he's attempting to impersonate a
human.
Kinda hard to judge the height from the picture... Wait, they list him as 5'

Evidently Ivan didn't own at least one of them.
And the guy that does is really pissed off.
It seems he'd never posted the e-mail address in usenet, a web page, a
chat room or anywhere and he'd never received spam at that address.
Suddenly the spam started flowing and he started 'Googling' for his
own e-mail addy, ran across this group and our discussion of Ivan.
Evidently that's where he picked up the reference to the "Ivan
Page"(tm) at Bubbaworld and from there it was a simple matter of
tracking down "who did what".
He e-mailed the Bubbaworld webmaster account and we conversed via
e-mail. Last I heard he was talking on the phone directly to a sys
admin at Prodigy. I don't know how it turned out.
My guess is that's one Hotmail address Ivan probably shouldn't use
again...

If/when I hear anything from the Hotmail user I'll do something,
either a post here or if it's newsworthy a page on Bubbaworld.
We've conversed via e-mail a couple of times but I haven't heard
anything more from him since this afternoon when he was on the phone
with Prodigy.
There is a free Usenet server in Germany. It takes a little time to get
signed up, but works better than using Google. I'm not sure if they're
feeding ok.general yet, they weren't when I tried 'em.

Cool... Who knows, this might be helpful to others that he's caused problems

Ivan shares a lot more with idiotic than the letter "i".
Ever since he started posting as iv...@yahoo.com and worked his way
through dozens of forged e-mail address I've been wondering when
someone was going to attempt to nail his ass to the wall.
It would be bad enough to 'spam' under a forged e-mail address but
posting some of the shit that Ivan posts to usenet and under the
e-mail address of another is worse, much worse.
Of course, Ivan being the way Ivan is, it evidently doesn't matter to
him that he causes problems from others as he goes along his merry way
using whatever e-mail address strikes his fancy at the moment. Never
mind that he could obtain legit addresses by the dozens or hundreds if
he so wished. I guess he's just too lazy to go about things the right
way.
In any case, I'm merely a spectator on this, Ivan's Latest Fiasco(tm).
Who knows, he may dodge the bullet and survive a TOS violation.
Personally I don't care one way or the other, unless of course he
started forging posts under one my e-mail address and/or one of the
domains I control, in which case I'd be all over him like flies on
shit.

In the current economy I doubt many, if any, ISPs are willing to
terminate a 'paying customer' for anything involving usenet posting.
It's just not that big a deal, especially to the big ISPs.

Evidently in China the issue is not one of 'finding' an open server,
rather it's a matter of 'reaching' an open server. Net access is
greatly controlled by the Chinese government and the Great Wall of
China(tm) has been replaced with the Great Firewall of China(tm).

Judging from the vast number of legitimate addresses/domains Ivan has
forged over the last few months odds are there's more than one pissed
off person. However, this is the first instance of which I am aware
of anyone tracking him down.
Evidently the guy 'took it personal' and since he's a regular in the
news.admin.net-abuse.* newsgroups he knows how to go after someone
forging his e-mail address to usenet.
Most of "Ivan's victims" probably haven't a clue as to what happened.
Well other than possibly seeing an increased spam load...
