Fact number one(1) three years with no problems..I have people tell me their
"Cox Cable" drops off line just like the old dial ups did. Also Cox Tech.
support has no answers to their problems.

I have yet to have a single problem with my Cox internet. I have had
problems with DSL that we use at work. How do you know Cox Tech support
doesn't have answers? You don't...
Come on Ivan, the only way to prove DSL is better is to do the
dslreports.com speed test and post the results.

If it isn't set up correctly or something (god forbid) breaks, yeah, cable
will go offline just as will DSL if something goes wrong. Dialup
connections are lost generally due to one or the other modem "timing out" on
any of a variety of internal registers. Even -bad- cable connection
behaves -at least- as well as your DSL, and much better than your DSL
is -typical-. DSL suffers from many limitations that just -are not there-
for cable.
1. DSL requires -much more- set up than does cable.
2. DSL requires that the user be within 12000 line-feet of the switch in
order for the $50 service to be any better than 56K dialup.
3. DSL service requires that the user -log on- just to connect.
4. DSL, in theory anyway, is capable of greater speeds than cable,
however, the "breakover" point where DSL is just not as effective as cable
is -extremely- close to the switch, as can be determined by the lack of DSL
"speed" at www.dslreports.com.
5. DSL is is a glorified dialup connection with transfer speeds
in -direct- correlation to distance from the switch.
6. DSL "supply" is, for the most part, supplied by the phone company,
therefore, when something -does- break (and it inevitably will), you have to
deal with -their- customer service to get it repaired.
Cable is less expensive -and- suffers from none of these deficiencies.
Much of the Cox service area is aerial wire and therefore is susceptible to
squirrel damage, breakage (due to tree branches or cars hitting poles and
taking them down), cracks in the feeder due to stress, etc.
The areas that are underground can be affected by all manner of
things -including- the owner's pets digging it up and damaging it to the
point that service levels are affected.
Phones go out, too, and for exactly the same reasons just listed. You
weren't around three or so years ago to hear all the horror stories about
DSL kicking off. Some of those concerned had a half-dozen DSL modems
sitting on closet shelves and -still- no one had ever come to their home to
set up the service. For those that -did- have someone come out and set it
up, it -never worked-.
Essentially, all you have with your DSL is a phone line dedicated to data
traffic and you are close enough to the switch for it to work.
You have the privilege of paying -at least- as much as cable modem users do
for -less- service.
IF you were capable of shutting up about that which you know nothing, you'd
never utter another word.

No need for a "one shot test". Visit the web site http://www.dslreports.com
and take a look at the average speeds of both cox.net and SBC DSL.
cox.net results:
Tests run this week: 1506
Down kbps: 2053
Upload kbps: 225
swbell.net results:
Tests run this week: 1070
Down kbps: 964

I'm capable of doing a little research.
I notice that you have -nothing- to say on any of the points I covered.
The only determination I can make from all of that is that you have no
counter-argument (other than your idiotic claims) for any of those points.
Why does that not surprise me?
>The DSL reports really prove nothing..Like driving some place and saying I got

That happens to your car? Not mine.Mine keeps it's mileage. If you
buy a decent car and keep up the maintenance on it then it will
always get the 35mph orig. mileage if driven in the same situation.
DSL speeds will tell a person alot about the performance of your
ISP and computer.

Well why won't Cox put in some quality cable? You're now saying Cox has many
levels of their hardware..I will agree with that. <smile>

Two years. Mine was new.
Get your hand outta your pants. I have no desire to be -any- part of your

Since 1971 dimbulb and it still works great :-) How is you're rental

Mine is free and clear :-) How about you're pals house?

There are multiple backbones. Cox has ONE of them.
Like I said, when you know not whereof you speak, why don't you just shut
up?

Again, you have not the slightest clue.
Cox has many -ages- in the hardware. As it gets older and starts to fail,
it gets repaired or replaced. Just as SBC is supposed to do.

That you and your Cordoba won't get pulled over. No one -there- owns a POS
like yours. You -have- to be someone that doesn't live there and you'd
obviously have to be there for something illegal. I'm sure you know what
"casing the joint" means.

As I thought. You didn't get it.

>Mine is free and clear :-) How about you're pals house?
It was built by personal spec by said friend who owns the
house, got everything in the house custom made, owns the two lots it is
on as well as all the various lots surrounding it and the very
subdivision it is in. not to mention a lot and house across the street
from it,oh,and several thousand acres around Talequah and surrounding
areas.

I don't know and don't really care. I'll be finished with it long before
then and will have replaced it. Probably several times.

Dumbfucks like you gum up the works.
Wake up, idiot. EVERYONE is better than you.
Heh, would you believe I actually ran across someone this evening that has
fond memories of a '79 Cordoba? She loved that car, until it was stolen...
Her broken down $500 Ford Escort seems like a step up...
Speaking of cop outs... How about those dslreports.com speed test results?
Wow, 23 years old? That's about 9 up on the girls you take pics of...
BTW, '78 isn't that old. One of my vehicles is a '70 model. I'd bet I get
better fuel milage on it than you do in that Cordoba.

Yes, but since he says it's better, that's gotta make it true... Right?
The speeds aren't the real issue. It's Ivan's constant lies and made up
facts. He gave me shit for going to cable, saying DSL is better. He's been
asked to back that up with facts.
Ever heard of lurking?

That's truly frightening.

Of course.
Had Rob been around long enough to lurk, he might have caught on to it
before someone (in this case, you) had to explain it to him.
Seems like he's been around here before... The name looks familiar.

I don't remember the name, but that may have been during my hiatus this
summer.
I just did a quick google search. He's been around awhile. I'll leave it at
that...
