Oklahoma teacher arrested by FBI in child porn case

MACOMB — A Macomb Public Schools teacher was arrested by FBI
agents Tuesday in connection to a child pornography case.

Lucas Cane, 30, of Ada, is charged with distribution of child
pornography and conspiracy to distribute child pornography, said
Bill Miller, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the
District of Columbia.

Miller said Cane made his first court appearance Tuesday and
remains in custody until further court proceedings in Washington
D.C. Miller said the case against Cane was launched by the FBI’s
Child Exploitation Task Force and will be prosecuted by the U.S.
Attorney’s Office in Washington D.C.

The school district confirmed the arrest in a statement released
Tuesday.

“This morning, we were informed that one of our teachers was
arrested. The subject matter pertaining to the arrest occurred
off campus, so no children were harmed or at risk at any time,”
officials wrote in the release.

Cane taught junior high and high school social studies,
according to the school district's website.

Miller said another man, Daniel Nickleson Jr., 36, of Sierra
Vista, Arizona, is a co-defendant in the case and is charged
with advertising child pornography, distributing child
pornography and conspiracy to distribute child pornography.

Nickleson is expected to make his first court appearance
Wednesday, Miller said.
