Hello,

I'm using HoRAE to obtain asymptotes for my databases, and I cannot obtain the results when trying with KDE: this error appears: "Array Index Out of Bounds Exception". Do you know how to solve this problem? I uploaded the shp and calculated the asymptote directly, and it did work for MCP.

Also, at which isopleth is the program calculating the asymptote for MCP? Is is possible to change it?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi Teresa,

thanks for your interest in the toolbox. It looks like you found a bug. When I run the MCP method (having selected point data as track data) it shows results for a KDE. If I switch to not having track data then I get the same error as you - probably the random selection of points doesn't work as expected. So we have two problems: instead of using MCP (should be 100%) it actually starts KDE, and there is a problem with the random selection - I guess. I will need to check what is going on in the next days.
If you don't have a response on next Monday can you write me reminder ... as this needs to be fixed.

sorry, and sadly nobody reported that before (I did not seem to have checked after doing changes to the last release).

Stefan

PS: seem like using the buffer-based asymptote also starts the KDE. So it must be an interface error.

Hi Stefan,

Thank you very much for your quick answer!! I didn't realize it was starting KDE instead of MCP, I saw that now.
Will it be able to perform the analyses with KDE with different bandwidths/isopleths? Or is it fixed for 95% isopleth and h_ref?

Teresa

Hi,

for KDE Asymptote there is an option which permits to calculate h_ref during each iteration when a new point is added - or otherwise fix it. But the 95% isopleth is fixed.

cheers,
stefan

Hi Teresa,

so I am not really sure what happened at the end. I did a tiny change and at least on my 2 old and new laptop (both Mac) it works again to use MCP and the Buffer approach - without any error.

Just to be sure you can also get a complete download from this link:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jump-pilot/files/OpenJUMP_plugins/More%20Plugins/OpenJUMP%20HORAE/OpenJUMP-171Plus_HORAE_apr2016.zip/download

Please let me know if the MCP / KDE does work again for you too - without errors.

slds,
Stefan

PS: Earlier I tried to send a message with a *.jar file attached (moveantools_apr2016.jar). This jar is now part of the new download. If you want you can do the following to keep the settings of your old OpenJUMP version: locate this jar file in /lib/ext/ within the new unzipped OpenJUMP install folder. Copy it to your existing OpenJUMP /lib/ext/ folder. There should be also an old jar file of similar name, but with a date from 2013. Delete this file before (re-)starting OpenJUMP (or copy it to another place meanwhile) - otherwise there may be conflicts.
