1.8.0.151-1 release page:
https://github.com/ojdkbuild/ojdkbuild/releases/tag/1.8.0.151-1
9.0.1-1 release page:
https://github.com/ojdkbuild/ojdkbuild/releases/tag/9.0.1-1
Both releases contains changes from October 2017 CPU (
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpuoct2017-3236626.html#AppendixJAVA
).
8u151 installer additionally contains "webstart" component, see:
https://github.com/ojdkbuild/ojdkbuild/wiki/WebStart
8u151 also contains Shenandoah garbage collector, use option
"-XX:+UseShenandoahGC" to enable it, details:
http://openjdk.java.net/projects/shenandoah/
Note, that version numbering for jdk9 is inconsistent, in different
places (excluding windows EXE/DLL/MSI versioning) it can be displayed as:
- 9.0.1-1
- 9.0.0.1-redhat+1
- 1.9.0_1
There are no plans to fix this for jdk9, as it is going to be a
short-term release, that is going to be replaced with new release (with
different version numbering) in April 2018, see:
http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/discuss/2017-September/004281.html
jdk8 remains a long-term release and going to continue being updated
once in 3 months. Next update is planned for January 2018.
