Hello all,

My talk on OpenYOLO for Android was accepted for Droidcon London 2017. I expect that that point we should all be production-ready, and I'm making the necessary preparations with David on the Google end to have good documentation and a clean API for developers to use.

I'd like it if as many of the committed password manager vendors as possible could send a representative to the conference, especially an engineering representative. If there are enough of us, I'm going to propose an evening hackathon for interested delegates where we can directly help them add OpenYOLO to their apps, or migrate from Smart Lock for Passwords to OpenYOLO. If you're interested in helping with this, please do respond to this thread.

Hi,

Two Android engineers from Dashlane (including myself) will be present at this conference and ready to help for OpenYolo.
FYI, we will be in London from Thursday morning to Friday end of the afternoon.

Stan

Congratulations on the talk being accepted Iain!

I think that an evening hackathon for OpenYOLO is a great idea and I’d be happy to represent 1Password. I’m planning on being there for both days of the conference, so we could potentially use some of the time to meet up and discuss longer term plans for OpenYOLO as well.

Cheers,
Michael

Excellent news, it'll be great to have both 1Password and Dashlane there. I'll work with our developer relations engineers in London to figure out the logistics of a hackathon; the conference schedule is pretty packed so it seems like we'll need to do this offsite, perhaps at the Google London offices. I'll correspond with SkillsMatter about this.

The current thought is to try and run an event at the Google London campus the day prior to the start of Droidcon; I'm still trying to determine if this will be possible.

You're not worry that we won't have that many people? Most of people already booked their flight/train ticket for the event only I think.
But it will be the same if we do it at the Google office during Droidcon for sure…
Having a stand within the event, where people can come ask questions and we can do live demo would not be possible? It would not be a workshop with people present for a long time, but maybe easier to touch the curiosity of more people?

We can certainly make ourselves as available as possible during the conference for people to come talk to us, but I'll at least try and find out how many people would be interested in coming to a pre-event.
