Workshops at LPCH

Hi all,
There are some 'Heart to Heart' workshops that run at Lucile Packard for
kids ages 10-12. The workshops are run in two sessions and girls and
boys are separated into different workshops. The workshops are
informative, as well as designed to create dialog between tweens and
their parents. Each child attends with one parent or a support person of
the same sex. Due to my work schedule, I have not been able to
participate in the Girls Leadership Institute workshops with Ember, but
thought this might be another good alternative.

I am thinking of registering Ember and I for the May 4 and 11th workshop
dates. (Wed. nights). Other sessions are offered on weekends and other
week day nights. The educators for these sessions consistently get
strong positive feedback from participants...

My husband and Brendan went to the boys one in January. My husband said it was terrific, and the moderator was great.

Also my 3rd grade daughter and I attended the GLI workshop held in January, and I can say firsthand it was excellent and we hope to attend the one for 4th/5th grade girls in the future.

Feel lucky to have all these great resources around.....

I am glad to hear your husband and Brendan enjoyed the Heart to Heart
workshop for boys. I was really disappointed when I realized that Ember
and I could not do the GLI workshops this year.I think those workshops
also include more on navigating friendships--which every kid going to
junior high could use some help with....
