Parents of 4th graders,

It is tradition for 4th grade families to provide light refreshments following the 5th Grade Promotion ceremony on the second-to-last day of school (June 8).  Since most families take their 5th graders out for lunch following the ceremony, this does not need to be anything elaborate or voluminous!  It is also nice to have cool water available during the ceremony as it's often hot and sunny on Promotion day.

If you are interested in helping with this tradition this year, please read on:

Timing:

Promotion starts at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 8.  Ending time is variable.

Needs:

-One person (or a pair) should be the coordinator(s), to ensure communication with the volunteers, send reminders, and be the "point person(s)" for the 5th Grade/Promotions committee.

-Tables and water need to be set up (with tablecloths and flowers) before promotion starts.

-Finger-foods need to be provided and should be placed on the table at the end of the promotion ceremony.

-After the reception, all refreshment items need to be cleaned up and supplies put away.
