Spring Fling and 5th grade tours of middle schools

I know our kids are in the middle of the Gold Rush, but I wanted to keep everyone in the loop about some activities happening later this month:

It’s Spring Fling Time! Make sure your children fill out a Talent Show Entry Form to be stars in our main event! Forms can be found in the office or can be downloaded here http://www.ohloneweb.com/assets/files/pdfFiles/talentshowflyer2011-1.pdf .

We are also actively recruiting volunteers, please consider volunteering your time at this fun and casual end-of-year event by signing up here http://tinyurl.com/3jd3nuv.

The Spring Fling Ice Cream Social is the 5^th Graders way to raise money for their Promotion Party, please join the fun at Spring Fling and support our oldest olders by buying Ice Cream Sundaes! 5^th Grade Students and Parents will be asked to help with the Ice Cream Social and will be contacted directly by Katie and the Ice Cream Social Team. These funds will also pay for a new mural at Ohlone-the fifth graders gift back to the school!

Bring-Your-Own dinner or come try our wonderful new caterer Tootsie’s at Stanford Barn (gourmet sandwiches, salads and pizzas using local, organic ingredients, menu will be provided soon!), Tootsie’s has agreed to donate 10% of their earnings to the Ohlone PTA!

Fifth grade families have already gotten an email about visiting middle schools on the 20th. The 4rth graders will be staying at Ohlone. If your child is heading to a private school, this is not a mandatory visit. If your child participates however, the visit will have to be at the school site they have been assigned to (ie student assigned to Jordan, but on waitlist for Connections would visit Jordan the 20th). If you can drive to either site, please let me know ASAP and I can begin to make car pool lists for the date. If you can't drive, but your child would like to tour their middle school, let me know as well.

A permission slip for the middle school tour was included in the original email; do not forget to submit this...

We only have one student going to Terman; I will email the other room parents to see if there is a carpool that can accommodate our student from 16.
